Alocasia macrorrhiza Stingray is an exotic and rare plant that is fast becoming popular. It is relatively easy to care for but it is not a recommended plant for beginners as it is sensitive to temperature and humidity. It's large leaves has a unique shape and a long upturned tail that resembles that of a stingray, hence it's name.

Light: Bright, indirect light

Water: Keep soil moist, do not allow the soil to dry out. Wattering a little and often is a good approach until you learn your plants watering needs.

Type: upright

Other: Fertilize with slow release fertilizer once a month during growing season. Humidity is key to the success of the Stingray plant.  Alocasia have a dormant period, typically in winter months, so fading and dying leaves are not uncommon. Decrease watering during this time. Avoid placing near drafts such as furnace vents and AC units. Toxic, keep out of reach of pets and small children.
