Cactus are a popular choices for gardens or to plant in pots indoors. Most cacti plants are drought resistant and easy to care for.
Light: Full to part sun. Take care if placing in window that receives a lot of sunlight as the glass intensifies the sunlight which can cause your plant to burn. If you see yellowing or browning on your cactus you may need to cool it off in a different place.
Water: Be sure to allow soil to completely dry out between waterings. Decrease waterings in winter months, as cacti become dormant.
Other: It is best to use soil designed for cactus and succulents as they offer the best drainage. Use gloves or tongs to transplant your cacti. Fertilize lightly with each watering during the growing season using a fertilizer made special for cactus plants.
